The community we want

  • Respect: the person on the other end is real, not content
  • Legal: smoke only where it's allowed
  • Safe: look after yourself and others

It's short. Two minutes, tops.

Age and identity

  • You must be 20 or older. Anyone under 20 can't sign up.
  • Be yourself: no impersonation, no pretending to be another gender, no using someone else's photos.
  • One account per person. No spare accounts, no handing yours off.

Smoke legally

  • Smoke only in legal smoking areas. Not sure? Look for the "Official" label in the app or the signs on site.
  • If a spot on the map is wrong (no longer allowed, closed, wrong location), report it.
  • No discussing, sharing or selling e-cigarettes or any illegal product.
  • No selling, trading or swapping tobacco or anything else, and no buying on someone's behalf.
  • No promoting tobacco brands, deals or sales.

Respect each other

  • No harassment, insults, hate or threats, including over gender, orientation, ethnicity, looks or job.
  • No nudity or sexual content in calls, chats, photos or avatars.
  • Don't send explicit content nobody asked for.
  • No pressuring anyone to meet, no pestering. When they say stop, stop.
  • If someone doesn't reply, hangs up or blocks you, that's their call.
  • Don't record, screenshot or share someone's calls or chats.
  • Respect people who are quitting: don't mock them or talk them out of it — and don't mock people who still smoke.

Safety first

  • Hold off on contact info. Phone numbers, links, LINE, IG and similar are replaced with "•••". Don't work around it with spaces or split-up letters.
  • Keep your home, work and school addresses to yourself.
  • Calls are voice only: random calls are anonymous and never use the camera; add each other as friends if you click.
  • Check-in privacy: check-ins can be Only me, Public in 2 h or Public now; one-tap check-in defaults to Only me. Think before choosing Public now — others will see you're there right now.
  • Scams and money: anyone asking for a loan, transfer, investment, top-up, or payment or gifts before meeting is scamming you. Report them.
  • Minors: if you think someone is under 20, report them right away and choose "Might be under 20".

Local circles

  • Check in at a smoking area to join its circle for 30 days; checking in again restarts the 30 days. Leave or mute a circle any time.
  • Members see only each other's nickname, level and Mist companion; photos show only if the person accepts your photo request.
  • Text only: no voice and no group video.
  • To get to know someone, say hi; a chat opens only if they accept. If they don't, let it go.
  • Don't dig for someone's real identity, workplace or address, and don't pull people to other platforms or groups.

"So windy here at night. Do you all work nearby?""Who wants my LINE?"

All-Taiwan Circle and All-Taiwan Quit Circle

  • The All-Taiwan Circle and the All-Taiwan Quit Circle are nationwide groups. When you sign up you join one automatically, depending on whether quit mode is on; you can leave or rejoin any time.
  • Members see your nickname, avatar (your Mist companion) and level.
  • Don't promote, sell or trade any tobacco product, e-cigarette or related product, and don't post brands or where to buy them. In the All-Taiwan Quit Circle, don't encourage anyone to smoke.
  • Content that breaks the rules is reviewed by a person after it is reported.
  • Text only, no photos; new accounts have a posting limit. The other local-circle rules (no contact details, don't pull people to other platforms, respect a declined greeting) apply here too.

Meeting safety tips

Yanyou doesn't arrange meetups. If you decide to meet, that's your call. Remember:

  1. No rush: chat for a while first. Being pushed to meet is a red flag.
  2. Daylight, busy, public: not their home, a hotel or anywhere private.
  3. Tell a friend where you'll be, who you're meeting and when you expect to finish.
  4. Get there and back on your own: don't get in their car; if your drink leaves your sight, leave it.
  5. Keep personal details to yourself: don't lend, transfer or invest money.
  6. Leave if it feels off — no reason needed.
  7. If something goes wrong: report and block in the app. In immediate danger call 110; for protection or advice call 113.

Keep it real

  • Spot reports need a real name, address and at least one photo you took yourself.
  • User-reported spots are labelled "Unverified". Be honest, and help correct mistakes.
  • No fake profiles, spam or ads.
  • No fake reports and no using several accounts to climb a leaderboard; if we find it, the points are reset, the account is removed from leaderboards and it can't win that month's prize.
  • When 3 different users report the same spot, it is hidden automatically until we check.

Gifts

  • Gifts are outfit items or pets for a Mist companion, and none of them are tobacco-related.
  • The name you give your Mist companion is visible to others and must follow these guidelines too; inappropriate names can be reported.
  • Gifts have no cash value, can't be exchanged or transferred, and can't be used to trade tobacco or anything else.
  • Never use gifts to ask for a meetup, contact info, photos or anything in return. Report anyone who does.

Reporting and what happens next

WhereHow
Random callTap "Report" during or after the call
Chat, profileTop-right menu, then Report or Block
Circles, question wallTap the menu next to the person or content, then Report
Smoking spotOn the spot page, tap "Report this spot"
  • Reporting from a chat or profile also blocks the person. In random calls (anonymous) or circles (nicknames only), reporting or blocking only stops you meeting them there. They are never told who reported them.
  • Threats, sexual violence, self-harm and possible minors are urgent reports and handled first.
  • We review the report and related records, then warn, limit features, suspend or permanently ban; serious violations also block the person from signing up again.
  • Appeals: if you think we got it wrong, appeal in the app under "Account status".
  • Emergencies: if anyone is in immediate danger, call 110 first. For protection, reporting or advice (harassment, domestic violence, sexual assault), call 113. Don't wait for us to reply.
